The Science behind a Perfect Night’s Sleep [Infographic]

Sleeping well, eating well and generally making yourself a priority are the cornerstones of living a happy and healthy life. While eating well is something that we have a pretty good idea about how to do, even if that just means eating more fruit and vegetables and less processed food, that alone is likely to have a beneficial effect.

But when it comes to sleep it can be a bit more of a black-box.  One week we can be sleeping well and the next for no particular reason we struggle to get to sleep and to stay asleep, to some extent that is normal. Fluctuations in our bodily rhythms are to be expected to some degree but when they continue for weeks on end then we know we have a problem that needs to be addressed.

With sleep, it can be difficult to know where to start, especially when it doesn’t seem like anything else has changed, but we just stop sleeping as well as we used to do. If you find yourself in that situation then we have a few tips to put you on the right track.
