  1. Great article! I have always been interested in natural health and all the ways we can heal ourselves naturally. I have tried essential oils and they are not just effective healing tools – I love the smell too – especially frankincense!

  2. My sister in law has just signed up with an organic essential oil company.. She had some oils to assist my weightloss programme.. Never thought to ask about my thyroid! Great site with tips here! Bookmarking your blog x

  3. I love the way you have your blog set up! it’s easy on the eyes 🙂 Thanks for all these great recommendations.

    1. thank you, Phillip – I was hoping that the blog would end up visually pleasing as well – your comment is much appreciated!

  4. I love this. Mother nature already has a cure for everything. No need for synthesized drugs, just natural remedies from plants. Really useful article Claudia!

    1. thank you, Matt! Indeed I trust the goodness of the Mother Earth more than that of the chemical drugs we are so used to here in the US. I am so glad I grew up in a family of herbologists, naturopaths, and organic gardeners. Blessings!

  5. I love lemon grass tea. It’s interesting to see that the oil can do so much, but what about using the plant to make a tea? Do you have any information on that? Just wondered if that would be more effective? Thanks for the information. I will be back.

    1. I am actually planning on writing a series on various herbal teas, and lemon grass is on the list as well, so stay tuned! For herbal teas, I tend to use dried material because I make my own mixes and teas all of the time. But you can use fresh lemon grass as well, steep it for 10 minutes, and sweeten with local raw honey. In order to reach the same effect as with the oil, I suggest two cups of tea each day, every day. But my preferred tea to treat hypothyroidism is nettle.
      thanks for stopping by!

  6. Hi, thank you for your sharing!
I like Rosemary Essential Oil very much because I like its smell very much. I find that I feel relaxed after smelling this oil. I should try Peppermint Essential Oil because sometimes I don’t sleep well.

I am just curious. Can we add some essential oils to our drink?

    1. that depends on the essential oil – oregano essential oil, for example, should not be taken internally. To be safe, I prefer infusions of the herb, if I want to take it internally, due to the strength of essential oils and their concentration. People with sensitive digestive systems should never take any essential oils internally, not even diluted.
