Friday Attitude Of Gratitude – Week #1

Week #1 - Friday Attitude of Gratitude

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I participated in the weekly gratitude blog hops, and I missed all of the participants dearly. Since my mother’s death last year, live has been a little strange, to say the least, and it has reflected in my writing online, as well as in the business adventures, my husband and I have been pursuing.

Nothing is the same, but that is not always a bad thing. I am grateful for the lessons and directions this year has taken me, and my family.

Which brings me to to the announcement of change within this blog, and my other blogs:

Avalon Media will be, beginning today, focusing on upon gratitude, mindfulness, and positive thinking – a state of mind I needed to relearn, and am now able to share about – and about which I am working on a book on. I will no longer post specific wellness related blog post, or recipes, because this blog had become way to all over the place to truly focus on creating the best posts for you.  While I love these subjects, I know I need to dive deeper into this subject matter. I hope you will continue to visit my blog.

My review blog “I Try Stuff You Buy Stuff”, will be focusing on healthy, green, consumable household products only, with an emphasize on those products without harmful ingredients, and preferably cruelty-free. I will update that site regularily as well, and hope you will visit me there.

My business blog “Miss Fiercely Independent”, will continue with its mission to empower women to create a passive income source, to combat financial dependence. I believe, and know so from first-hand experience, that having a seperate income, even while caring for your children at home, can bring a shift in the power dynamic of a household, and therefore eliminate emotional and financial abuse. That is and will always be the main focus of that blog.

Now, back to this weeks gratitude list:

I have so much to be thankful for this week:

I am grateful for this weird cat of mine, who thinks he can fit in this tiny box
I am grateful for this weird cat of mine, who thinks he can fit in this tiny box
  1. I am grateful for helpful people, willing to go the extra mile, even if they do not benefit from doing so
  2. I am grateful for my neighbors, who take their time to say hi to my dogs, and are simply pleasant to talk to.
  3. I am grateful that the weather here today, resembles more Florida then it does Las Vegas, with its overcast and higher humidity, and cool breeze.
  4. I am grateful that on a busy day like this, I have the luxury of having my groceries brought to me, and I don’t have to go shopping
  5. I am grateful that I slept well last night, despite the recent increase in allergies.

Question: What are you grateful for this week?

  1. Oh oh oh I do mindfulness! Even attended an 8 week course by John Kabat Zinn! Sending Loving kindness, Metta, and gratitude! Grin, I am grateful for this moment of connection.

  2. It’s a great idea to inspire people to be grateful. Unfortunately, it’s human nature, I think, to focus on the negative and not the positive in our lives, which is one of the reasons why I think so many people become unhappy or depressed or lose confidence. It’s not that good things don’t happen to them, it’s just that they dwell on the bad things more often, which is why the negative spends so much time lingering in the brain. It’s because we give negative things so much power over us. Gratitude may be a way to combat this.

you are correct, we are conditioned to think negative, and it is easy to get into that rut of negative self-talk and constant inner chatter, that does not serve us. This is why i am interested in the subject and have studied it extensively – to find out how some seem to be able to get out of that rut of negative thinking and move toward an expansive, abundance seeking and creating positive outlook.

Thanks for commenting – have a wonderful day!

  3. Claudia,
A great and very positive list. Thanks for this refreshing read and your kitty is adorable! I have two cats and they are so weird like that, each in different ways. Hope you have a great weekend and a great summer!

  4. Hi Claudia, thank your this post. An attitude of gratitude is essential for success in life. I am a firm believer in that! Although at times it’s challenging to stay in the habit of being grateful, you provide a nice reminder (and examples) here. The small things in life count! Thanks for sharing.

  5. I like the idea of Friday gratitude. You work all week and are grateful for the weekend, but it’s more than that. Being positive and having gratitude should be every day and about everything. Maybe Monday you start out grateful and by Friday you’re at an all time high of being grateful for everything that has happened up to then. But never stop. Don’t change and become negative.

  6. Wow a cool website, you a promoting something that humanity needs right now. We are always trying to improve our circumstances to be happy with our lives rather than already being happy with what we have. You have inspired me today:). I am grateful for my parents allowing me to stay with them and I am grateful for having the space to create my own website
