Friday Finds and Favorites # 61 And Fill-Ins

Hi Everyone,

I am thankfully for everyone who participated and commented on last week’s Friday Finds And Favorites. It was awesome to see all of your beautiful blogs. Also, thanks to my awesome co-hosts Anna and Camille, for allowing me to continuously to be a part of this blog hop.

This week has been relatively quiet, just busy with work, and a broken washing machine (which will lead to a fun weekend of hunting down a laundry mat, as the broken piece to repair it won’t be here until Tuesday),  so that I got a little bit of extra reading in. And that is a good thing as my TBR list is getting longer and longer, but my speed reading skills do not grow at the same rate, as the book pile. That would be nice.

This week I want to share with you a list of blog posts I read throughout the week.

Here are this week’s favorite finds:

Like To Dabble Blog:  Is your WordPress site secure from hackers? If you are not sure, check out this blog post to find out what action steps you can take to make sure it is.

The Style Traveller Blog:  Combining fashion with travel. I love her photography, and her sense of style, so if you love visual blogs, you should check this one out.

Shobhasfoodmazaa.com l I love Indian food, and if you are looking for authentic recipes then you should look no further than this blog. For the more adventurous eater, of course.

I hope you will give those blogs some love.

Also, my favorite book of the week is Kay Hooper’s Wait For Dark, which is a paranormal suspense story, centering around a special crime’s unit in the FBI. You can read my review of this book on my book blog here.

My cats new favorite finds are the plants I brought home a couple of days ago. As soon as I put them on the counter he was all in them. He is too adorable!

Now, like every Friday, I am also participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop. Every week, we are asked to fill in the blanks to some sentences, which give us quite an interesting insight into every blogger participating.

Here are this weeks fill-in sentences:

My favorite cereal is _________________.

My prom ____________________.

The thing___________________ about                     is                           .

I cannot help                           ,but                                       .

My answers are:

My favorite cereal is not the most healthy one. It is Cini Mini’s  and it is sweet, filled with cinnamon, and just plain good – just not good for you, so I don’t eat it very often.

My prom – well, I did not have a prom, because I was raised in Germany. We don’t have proms, but I think that would have been interesting.

The one thing about Florida, that I still miss, is strangely enough: the lizards. Those were adorable, and they entertained all of my pets. They loved watching them from our screened-in porch, and sometimes one got lost on the way in. My cat has eye problems, so he can not judge distance very well, so he very, very caught one. But he gave it his all.

I cannot help – well actually I can –  but drink coffee all day long, but I am giving myself that one vice because I don’t drink any alcohol, I eat rather healthy, I have never smoked, and never done drugs. I am okay with that one, and unless it will affect me in a negative way, I am going to keep on drinking coffee – I am stubborn like that, lol.

Don’t forget to participate our blog hop. The rules are simple: Link up as many of your family friendly posts as you want. Please visit the other blogs, and leave comments on them to show some love.

Simple enough, isn’t it?

I am looking forward to checking out your blog posts.

Blessings!

Claudia

  1. I used to drink coffee all the time. Now, we don’t buy it,. Sometimes we get a cup from McDonald’s or from the Donut shop. The Donut shop is very close to our house. Maybe too close, lol. Have a great weekend.

    1. ouch, a donut shop that close would be tempting. At least at home, I can control myself around the sweets, but donuts? There goes all the self-control, lol. Blessings!

  2. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am the same way about coffee and I don’t drink either so I figure it is OK 🙂 That cereal sounds very good. You should get your cat some catnip or kitty grass . Have a great weekend!

    1. The cat grass is a good idea. He gets catnip on occasion. You should try that cereal if you like cinnamon. It is soooo yum

  3. Cini Minis sound like they would be very good!
Do you know why the German schools don’t have proms? My oldest first cousin was born in Germany. He still lives there and I have never met him.
The lizards here in Texas are fun to watch, too. We had an anole that liked to hang out in our Christmas tree one year.
Please tell me where I can find the rules/requirements for Friday Finds And Favorites. I’ve seen it mentioned on a few blogs, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to do to be involved with it.
Thank you and have a blessed weekend. 🙂

    1. I am not sure. We never had much extra stuff, that was not simple school work in school, but our school hours are shorter too – first grade leaves at 12:15 and the rest leave at 1 pm, with an occasional (maybe twice a week for another two hours, and then it was stuff like cooking or gym class). You got to keep in mind that we (at least when I grew up) had a 36.5 hour work week, lol.
But we have lots of clubs instead, that are organized outside of the school. I was a part of the gardening club, and dance club, and choir club. Just different.

As for the Friday Finds and Favorites, simply add your family friendly post to the end of the post, there is a linky – you can see where it says click here to enter. Simply add your link or links – you can add as many as you like. Blessings!

      1. Wow, I wish our school days had been that short. Most days I didn’t get home from school until around 4pm.

So there’s no particular format for the Friday Finds and Favorites post? This will be an adventure. Maybe I will play along next week. 🙂

        Have a blessed weekend.

  4. I have the same problem with reading. 😉 My to-read list is insane and I just signed up for book of the month club again…better get reading!

Love the lizard story and your kitty!

    1. thanks Anna, as a book blogger the pile never gets smaller, but oh well, I love to read. Have fun with the Book of the Month Club
